Start with the right source
Photograph or scan your own signature with even lighting and sharp focus. Crop away unused paper while keeping all of the strokes. A clean rectangular crop is often more reliable than a general background-removal model because a signature is made of thin disconnected marks rather than a single photographic subject. Keep the original file stored privately.
Inspect what the edit changes
Check dots, crossbars, pen lifts and the ends of light strokes. These are easy for a mask to mistake for noise. Increasing edge softness can erase them further. If a receiving form needs a specific file size or dimensions, follow that form’s own instructions and preserve the signature’s proportions while resizing.
Keep these limits in view
Do not upload another person’s signature without their authority. A signature image is not automatically a legally valid electronic signature, and converting the file does not authenticate the signer. This tool only creates an image copy and does not make legal-validity claims.
Worked workflow
Worked workflow: crop the paper around the signature, resize the crop without stretching, then save the required format. Inspect the downloaded strokes at normal viewing size before attaching the file to the intended form.
Keep the original
Use a copy for the prepared version.
Make the local edit
Choose a crop or output format for its destination.
Inspect the export
Check the actual file and the final display.
Save a usable handoff
Choose PNG when another design tool needs a transparent layer. Choose JPG when the destination expects an opaque photograph. WebP is useful when the receiving app accepts it. The download checks the actual output type rather than giving a file a misleading extension.
The editor processes image contents on your device. Background removal downloads the model first, then uses local computation. Keep your original and inspect the exported copy before publishing. The app does not send the finished image to a platform, guarantee acceptance or replace the specialist workflow described above.
