827 × 1063 pixels at the chosen 600 ppi print density.

Head measurement: No more than 36 mm; no precise lower bound stated.

The official text describes the head as about two thirds of the image and no taller than 36 mm. We do not invent a lower measurement.

Use the position sliders to frame your original photo. The dashed oval is a rough head-height reference based on the middle of the published range, not automatic face detection or an acceptance check. No head guide is drawn if the source does not give both endpoints.

Pixel density: 600 pixels per inch at the stated sheet size. Set paper size explicitly, with fit-to-page off. The file metadata may say 96 dpi. No face alteration or background replacement is applied.

Local workspace limit: 24 megapixels and 10,000 pixels per side. Output keeps the source dimensions unless you resize or crop. Tool specifications and methods.

How the pixel dimensions are calculated

Pixels = millimeters ÷ 25.4 × pixels per inch, rounded to the nearest whole pixel. For this preset, width is 35 ÷ 25.4 × 600 = 827 pixels after rounding. Height is calculated the same way. The conversion factor comes from NIST; the print density is our selected workspace setting unless the authority explicitly specifies it.

A pixel count does not prove a photograph has enough detail. Enlarging a small source can produce a larger file with soft eyes and hair. Keep the source sharp, leave room around the head and avoid camera angles that distort the face. If a photographer or approved capture system is required, use that process.

Print at the intended physical size

The studio can arrange copies on a 4 × 6 inch sheet or a 10 × 15 centimeter sheet. Those are different paper sizes. Choose the matching option, download the sheet and set that exact paper size in the print service or print dialog. Turn off automatic fit-to-page scaling. Measure a test print before using the final photo.

Browser-generated files may carry a generic 96-dpi metadata value. The output pixels are calculated for the selected 600-ppi sheet, but the print dialog still needs the correct physical dimensions. The tool does not control the printer, paper, ink or a shop’s automatic cropping.

Questions that come up

Does this guarantee acceptance?

No. The receiving authority decides. Check the current official instructions, including photographer, paper, certification and submission requirements. A correct crop is only part of a compliant photo.

Does the tool change my face or background?

No. This mode only crops, positions, resizes and arranges the original photo. Take the photo against the required real background. Retake it if the lighting or expression is wrong.

Can I upload the print crop to an online form?

No separate digital-upload limit is asserted here.
